Little Tokyo walking tour (Saturday, September 11)

There is apparently a waitlist just added for this tour–it had been full. If you’re interested, you might consider just showing up, and seeing what happens. For a Saturday morning event at starting at 9:00am-ish, there may be  a few people too partied out to want to walk around in the sunlight.

Little Tokyo: A Culinary and Historical Tour

Saturday, September 18, 2010 : 9:30am to 4:00pm

Open to USC students only. Admission is free. The event is full; however, we are accepting waitlist reservations. To sign up for the waitlist, click here.

Students explore Little Tokyo and its fascinating history while sampling local delicacies.

This trip is for current USC students only. You must use the provided transportation to participate. Space is limited, and advance registration is required. Check-in for the event will begin at 8:45 a.m. on campus. The bus will depart at 9:30 a.m. and will return to campus at 4 p.m.

Lunch will be provided on the tour.

The trip will end with a visit to the Japanese American National Museum.

Los Angeles’ Little Tokyo neighborhood is one of only three official Japantowns in the United States. Founded at the beginning of the 20th century, it is a National Historic Landmark District and is on the National Register of Historic Places.
